Hilde and Jef turn 50 this year,

When they offered to organise "kliekday", our brains started working already with how we would surprise them.

We got everything out of the cupboard, shuttles, beercards, trappist of course, hay, KBC(bank)advertising, ...

The girls went in badminton outfits, the boys in a cycling shirt.

Jef was completely surprised, Hilde was expecting something, we were welcomed with coffee or tea.

It was after all 9 in the morning...

Then our cycling trip started for real.

First stop, after 15 kms a farm with the best milking cows in Belgium.

They don't go outside and can be milked up to 4 times a day by a robot.

Very interesting to see and hear.

After that Jef showed us a new green house from his school,

He does not work in them, but the surrounding meadows, corn, grass,...

Also interesting.

After all that learning time for lunch, at the begijnhof in Hoogstraten. Rolls with cheese or ham, coffee tea and juice, delivered by Nele, Jeroen and Beau, their little border collie.

Then time for some culture, Jef's colleague, is an actor and he told us a juicy story from around the 1920's. Quiet funny too.

Time to head back to their farm where we drank an aperitive, followed dinnernwhich was white bread, meatballs and a tart cherry sauce.

It was a lovely, sunny day in good company, we all enjoyed it a lot.
